KHARTOUM, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- Sudanese government on Saturday said that a new round of peace talks regarding South Kordofan and Blue Nile areas would begin on Sunday in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa.

"The government delegation will leave on Saturday for Addis Ababa, and it is ready to achieve peace in the two areas (South Kordofan and Blue Nile)," said Faisal Hassan Ibrahim, Sudanese presidential assistant, when addressing a humanitarian convoy heading to the two areas.

"The government delegation will go to the talks with open heart and mind," he added.

Ibrahim urged the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM)/northern sector to opt for peace to end the suffering of the citizens of the two areas prior to entering the phase of formulating the constitution and 2020 elections.

He further reiterated the government's readiness to deliver the humanitarian assistance to the war-affected areas under "safe and stable circumstances."

The SPLM/northern sector has been fighting the Sudanese government at South Kordofan and Blue Nile areas since 2011.

More than 10 rounds of peace talks have been held in the Ethiopian capital between the Sudanese government and the SPLM/northern, under the patronage of the African Union, but have failed to reach a peace deal regarding South Kordofan and Blue Nile areas.
