LONDON, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- A helicopter belonging to Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, the chairman of Leicester City crashed Saturday night outside the club's stadium, Sky News reported.

The helicopter crashed in a car park outside the club's ground shortly after taking off after match. It is not clear who was on board or their conditions.

Leicester City had been playing West Ham United in the Premier League at their King Power stadium.

Witnesses say the helicopter took off as normal from the stadium and was hovering over the southeast corner of the stadium before it spiraled down to the ground and burst into flames. Pictures from the Internet showed a large fireball in the car park.

Srivaddhanaprabha, who owns the Thai duty free company King Power, purchased English football club Leicester City in August 2010 following a three-year shirt sponsorship deal.

In February 2011, he was named chairman of Leicester City while continuing as owner. His Leicester City went on to win the 2015-2016 Premier League title.

Leicestershire Police said they are dealing with an incident in the vicinity of the King Power Stadium. "Emergency services are aware and dealing."
