KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- The Malaysian government remained committed to further developing friendly relationship with China, and hoped China would import more from Malaysia to help its development, a senior Malaysian official said Friday.

"We will make sure that the good things will be shared between our countries, we will also make sure the trade between our countries will continue to growth," International Trade and Industry Minister Darell Leiking said during the opening ceremony of "Building a Better Future Together" photo exhibition organized by the Chinese embassy in Malaysia.

Malaysia continued to welcome businesses from China and hoped China would "buy a lot more of our products," he said.

Darell Leiking stressed that the relations between the two governments remained close following Malaysia's general election in May.

"The government of Malaysia led by Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad is very committed to working with the Chinese government," he said.

For his part, Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Bai Tian said there was huge potential and bright prospects between the two countries.

"History is the best textbook we can learn from. From the exhibition, you can see how China and Malaysia have progressed and developed together," he said, "I hope we may draw wisdom and strength from these pictures to promote our bilateral relations to new heights."

The exhibition displays over 200 photographs in three major themes, capturing moments from China's success since the Reform and Opening-up, the development of China-Malaysia relationship, and also featuring the achievement of the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by China.
